Sonem Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sonem mobile application ("Sonem" or "the app"), provided by Sonem App LLC, a California limited liability company ("we," "us"). By downloading or using Sonem, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Sonem is
Sonem is a personal expense and budget tracking tool. It lets you log income and expenses, set budgets and savings goals, and view charts of your spending. All data you enter is stored locally on your device only — see our Privacy Policy for details.
2. What Sonem is not
Sonem is an organizational tool, not a financial advisor. Sonem does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The numbers, charts, and summaries in the app reflect only the information you enter, and any decisions you make based on them are your own responsibility. For financial advice, consult a qualified professional.
3. Your data and your responsibility
Because your data is stored only on your device and we never have a copy:
- You are responsible for your data. If your device is lost, damaged, reset, or the app is uninstalled, your Sonem data cannot be recovered by us. We have no copy to restore.
- Deleting is permanent. The Delete All Data function in Settings is immediate and irreversible.
- Accuracy is up to you. Sonem calculates from what you enter. Incorrect entries produce incorrect totals.
4. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Sonem on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store from which you downloaded it (the Apple App Store or Google Play).
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the app, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
5. Intellectual property
Sonem, the Sonem name, logo, and all app content and design (excluding the data you enter) are the property of Sonem App LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws. The data you enter into Sonem is yours.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use Sonem only for lawful personal purposes. You may not use the app in any way that violates applicable law or attempts to interfere with the app's operation.
7. Updates and changes
We may update Sonem from time to time to fix bugs, improve performance, or add features. We may also modify or discontinue features. If a future update materially changes how the app handles data, our Privacy Policy will be updated before release.
8. Disclaimers
Sonem is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations will be free of defects.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sonem App LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ten U.S. dollars ($10), whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so parts of Sections 8 and 9 may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You may stop using Sonem at any time by deleting the app. We may terminate or suspend the license in Section 4 if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 5, 8, 9, and 12 survive termination.
11. App store terms
Your download of Sonem is also subject to the terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the app or its support.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version, and material changes will be noted in the app or on sonem.app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
